Progress Report: Mobile and Sync Beta Status Update

Status Update: March 23, 2016

Good News!

Over the past two months, we’ve had over 1,000 people participate in beta testing four new products/features: two new mobile apps (iOS and Android) and two new sync solutions (Google & Microsoft 365).

These efforts have been very productive and we wanted to share a few things people have been saying, and answer a few questions that have been asked.

First, so what are people saying about the new features?

  • “I love how it captures the incoming phone calls and asks me to add them to my PlanPlus Online contacts” – (Android App)
  • “I have tried PlanPlus numerous times over the years and this is the missing link….”
  • “Finally, a Sync that works…”

And now, here are the answers to a few common questions:

What other changes are planned before “BETA” label is removed?

For PlanPlus Mobile Sync (both iOS and Android):

  • Complete Planning features in mobile app.
  • Resolve “timeout” issues w/ sync.
  • Add automatic sync timer on mobile apps.
  • Resolve random duplicate creation issues.

For PlanPlus Online Cloud Connector Sync (Google or Microsoft 365/Exchange)

  • Increase frequency of automated sync timing. Currently about 60 minutes.

Is it Safe for me to use the beta?

Yes, it’s pretty safe. We do recommend you have a backup of any data so you can restore if needed. For a summary of the known issues and troubleshooting tips.

What kinds of problems might you experience?

Here are a few things that we’re aware of and working to fix as soon as possible:

  • There’s an occasional issue with appointment duplication when you travel and have a time-zone change. This fix is pending.
  • There are occasional issues with contact duplications. This seems to be associated with syncing the iOS mobile app with an iCloud account.
  • We also are aware of issues with recurring tasks. If you have several recurring tasks, you may want to wait for a few weeks before using mobile sync while we work to correct this issue.

How do I participate in the Beta?

You must have a account to use these mobile apps. If you have an existing mobile account, you can download the apps and start using.
